200 Santa Clauses welcome Christmas in Hanoi

More than 200 members of a laughter yoga club, most of them women, attended a Hanoi Christmas festival wearing Santa Claus costumes on December 23.

They began their warm-up exercises by laughing loudly, following their instructors’ examples. The funny atmosphere and intriguing movements spread cheer to all passers-by.

A UK foreigner and a disabled Vietnamese also attended the event.

The event aims to welcome a festive Christmas for all the club’s members.

Laughing yoga was brought to Vietnam from India 20 years ago under the instruction of Le Anh Son, the club’s chairman.

Practitioners laugh out loud to expel the air from their stomachs, breathe deeply, and maintain eye contact with fellow practitioners while continuing the discipline’s exercises.
