The national flag carrier, Viet Nam Airlines (VNA) has announced a plan to launch a direct air route connecting Moscow of Russia and central coastal city of Nha Trang of Vietnam on April 5.
This is the VNA’s third direct air route linking Viet Nam and Russia.
The air route would run one flight a week on Friday using Boeing 777.
Accordingly, flights from Nha Trang will depart from Cam Ranh International Airport at 10:25 am and return flights, starting at 20:00 (local time), taking around ten and a half hours.
The frequency will be raised to two flights a week from October, 2013 to meet passengers’ demand.
The new direct route is expected to diversify domestic tourism products and bring more Russian guests to Vietnamese and regional destinations in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
Last year, Viet Nam welcomed around 180,000 Russian tourists, 82,000 of whom visited central coastal Khanh Hoa province. A majority of the Russian guests came from nine cities of the Far East Russia through Cam Ranh International Airport.
