Preparations for this year’s Da Nang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC2013) are on schedule.
According to the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this year’s event will feature 5 new activities during the DIFC period. They include a Book Reading Festival Day, a photo exhibition of the beauty of Da Nang, and an International Cuisine Festival. In addition, other activities such as a National Hip Hop Dance Competition, a music party, and a food and drink area, are expected to be held at the Eastern Sea Park.
8,880 tickets in the B4 and B5 stands, where the audience can get the best views of the spectacular performances, are on sale at the price of 400,000 VND each per night. The total number of tickets released is 36,000, which is 6,000 more than last year.
Up to now, 1,458 cartons of fireworks for the competing teams have already been safely transported to the city and are being stored securely.
Currently, there are 350 hotels in the city with a total of 11,275 rooms, up by 2,393 compared with last year. An estimated 73% of the rooms in these local hotels has been already booked, a decrease of up to 10% against last year. Most of hotel rooms along the banks of the Han River, however, have been occupied. There is also a 25% decline in hotel room reservations in Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City and Thua Thien-Hue Province’s Lang Co Town.
